1 Seeds Texas State and Northern Iowa Upset

The Sun Belt Conference has given us the wildest conference tournament so far as (1) Texas State was upset by (8) Louisiana-Lafayette this afternoon, knocking out 34% of our pool. Earlier this week, bonus favorite (5) South Alabama was also upset by a lower seeded team. The bright spot is that analytics favorite (3) Georgia State is still alive and only 11 of us are left in the Sun Belt Conference heading into this evening.

In the Missouri Valley Conference (1) Northern Iowa was beat by (4) Loyola-Chicago in a game that was dominated wire to wire by Loyola. Loyola was a popular pick in our pool with 71% selecting them to win the conference championship. Although not by that large of a percentage, the analytics agree with Loyola winning and gave them a 37% chance to win the conference tournament championship. Only one person went with (1) Northern Iowa, sorry Curt.

Not upsets, but additional significant losses today include (4) USC Upstate in the Big South and (3) Gardner-Webb in the Atlantic Sun.

The standings are up to date through the (4) Loyola Chicago upset of (1) Northern Iowa in the Missouri Valley Conference semi-finals.
