First Ticket Punched: Murray State

We finally had our first championship game tonight and (1) Murray State punched its ticket by winning the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament! 

For those that did not watch, this was a very fun, back and forth game between (1) Murray State and (3) Morehead State that came down to the last few seconds. 30 out of 35 people in the pool now have a win and we're just getting started as we'll have more championship games Sunday. No bonus points were awarded tonight and if you were one of the 5 non winners I would not worry as this is not a pivotal conference for our pool.

While the Ohio Valley Conference Championship game was being played 4 other conferences wrapped up its semi-finals. Many of the games impacted our pool and here are a few of the big ones.

In the Atlantic Sun conference (1E) Liberty lost to (2W) Bellarmine, eliminating both 1 seeds from the finals. I still think the seeding in this conference is the worst of all time and makes no sense at all. 

In the Northeast Conference (1) Bryant survived against (4) Mount St. Mary's in a game where The Mount was leading all game, Bryant took the lead and then a crazy ending with Bryant winning on a free throw with .8 seconds left. This would have been a devastating loss for 9 people because (2) Wagner demolished (3) LIU creating a Bryant vs. Wagner championship game. 

Finally, in a game that came down to the buzzer (3) Drake beat (2) Missouri State, guaranteeing bonus points coming out of this conference.

The standings are up to date through tonight as none of the remaining conference championship games impact our pool. I'll continue posing the standings links to ensure everyone has easy access. Our top 3 now consists of: The Gruesome Threesome, Tom and Pat.

Even though the WCC games tonight do not impact our pool I will still watch to see the constant Vegas money shots.
