Northeast Conference Quarterfinals Preview and Big South Ohio Valley Opening Round

Before we get into the preview for today we did have someone suffer a loss yesterday as (7) Youngstown State was defeated by (10) Robert Morris in Horizon League opening round action. The first update to the standings spreadsheet will come this Friday afternoon when I expect we'll see more losses and more finalized conference seeding. I will also post longer and more detailed blog entires, multiple times each day starting Friday as the action increases.

Moving on to today's action, the entire Northeast Conference has moved into the quarterfinals, meaning that all teams are in play today. I don't expect we'll see any pool losses with these games today as we're on the 1 through 3 seeds, but let's hope for an upset or two. Below is the Northeast Conference bracket, they definitely have one of the nicer looking bracket graphics!

Big South

The opening round today features the 5 through 12 seeds and this is another conference where our picks all over the board. Lundo sits alone as the only person with Big South action today as he picked (5) UNC Asheville. They are a 10 point favorite against Hampton today, but the Big South is really good at giving us upsets.

Ohio Valley

86% of our picks are on (1) Murray State with only a few people on (2) Belmont and one person on (3) Morehead State. The Ohio Valley conference typically comes down to a Murray State vs. Belmont championship game and today's first round action does not impact our pool. The Ohio Valley conference has one of the ugliest looking bracket graphics, but i'll post it anyways.
